The National Association of Church Personnel Administrators under an agreement with the Emerging Models of Pastoral Leadership Project funded by the Lilly Endowment has compiled and prepared this report of parish pay data gathered in 2010 by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA).
The survey presents pay and benefits data for 60 parish positions, covering many of the types of jobs found in Catholic parishes, including those in ministry, religious education, liturgy and music, administration and support, and facilities and maintenance. The survey report provides breakouts of the data by a number of parish size factors–– budget, amount of weekly offertory collection, number of staff members, number of registered families/households, number attending weekend Masses––as well as by geographic region. The survey report also presents twenty instances of comparable pay data from private industry employers from and from Protestant employers.
