“Reminiscing” Historical Review Panel and Interaction

Our Convocation opens on Monday evening, April 23rd, with a reception to greet old friends and meet new.  Then all will come together for evening prayer, followed by formal welcomes and introductions.

Next, we will grab drinks and plates of delicious hor d’oeuvres, and get comfortable to listen to some reminiscing and reflecting from some leaders in the NFPC who remember the earlier years.  Emceed by Fr. Nick Rice of the Archdiocese of Louisville (NFPC President from 1994 to 1997), the Panel will offer information about the growth and changes in the NFPC organization, as well as memories of people and places.

The panel will include:

Fr. Clete Kiley, Archdiocese of Chicago, Current Director of Immigration Policy for UNITE HERE and founder of the NFPC Priest-Labor Initiative 2012

Msgr. Rich Hynes, NFPC President from 1984-1988

Fr. David Brinkmoeller, Archdiocese of Cincinnati priest, now actively retired, former executive director for the Office of Priestly Life and Ministry for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, 1987-1992

Alan Szafraniec, NFPC Employee from 1997 to 2017

Interaction from all priests that are present is encouraged as a vital part of this informal discussion.  Comments, questions, or historical additions from any in attendance will be welcome.
