San Francisco Archbishop Emeritus George Niederauer dead at 80

Former San Francisco Archbishop George Niederauer, who headed the archdiocese from 2006 to 2012 died on May 2 of pulmonary thrombosis at a Catholic care center in San Rafael, Calif. according to The Salt Lake Tribune (May 2, 2017). He was 80.
