NFPC Statement on the Election of Pope Benedict XVI

The National Federation of Priests' Councils gives thanks to God for the election of Pope Benedict XVI. Following days of reflection and prayer, The Church takes up her mission once again under the guidance of a new Chief Shepherd. We pray that he will be gifted with wisdom and knowledge, courage and strength, health and happiness as he sets out on this most challenging journey. May Benedict XVI be a strong holy leader for the Church in today's world.

We owe a debt of thanks to all of the members of the College of Cardinals who carried out their work with dignity and grace. May God reward their generosity.
