Editor’s Note: A truly blessed and peaceful Christmas filled with the joy and love of the infant Jesus.

Editor’s Note 2:

Dear Friends,

This issue of NFPC This Week is my last as editor. I am retiring from NFPC as of January 1. It was not an easy decision. I’m taking my cues from Father Ron Knott, who recently retired from writing his weekly column for the Louisville archdiocesan newspaper, The Record. “’Knowing when to quit’ is something that all of us have to deal with at different points of our lives. The opposite is ‘overstaying your welcome,’” Fr. Ron stated.

I’ve been very fortunate to have worked at a job I love for nearly 21 years. I’m grateful for the support over the years of five presidents and our Board and Council of Consultors. And most importantly, I am deeply grateful for collaborative, cooperative, and super coworkers.

At the end of his column Father Ron quotes an unknown author: “There are things that we never want to let go of, people we never want to leave behind, but keep in mind that letting go isn’t the end of the world, it’s the beginning of a new life.”

Father Ron received NFPC’s Touchstone award in 2008.

Thank you, our priest-readers, for your support and editorial comments through the years.

We’ll keep you posted on my replacement as soon as that decision is made.

Peace and all good,

Alan Szafraniec
