Priest-Labor Workshop Overview

Atlanta, Georgia | April 28th-May 1st, 2014

Renewing the Heart of the Church A National Convocation of Priests

The mission of the National Federation of Priests’ Councils Priest-Labor Initiative is to form, train, coordinate and encourage a community of priests across the United States who stand with and advocate for workers, especially immigrant workers, according to the principles of Catholic social teaching.

The NFPC’s Priest-Labor Initiative will sponsor another national training for priests ministering with workers. We have had two training sessions so far and both have been a great success and a good experience!  We’ll gather on Wednesday, April 30 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center.

Through the generosity of our collaborators, we are able to provide for your transportation, lodging (for one or two nights, depending on your travel), food and materials—a $1500 value. We ask that you contribute $99.  To view schedule Click here. There’ll be opportunity for you to share your experiences, successes and frustrations. Presentation of new material as well as discussions and meetings with workers to learn their concerns.

On Monday April 28 at 5:00 PM the NFPC’s 46th annual national priests’ convocation begins, running through Thursday evening, May 1st.  Not only for NFPC delegates, the convocation is a great opportunity for continuing education, prayer, and priestly fraternity with brothers from around the country.  The schedule is humane, and there’s plenty of free time for relaxing. The theme of the 46th annual conference is “Renewing the Heart of the Church.”  Our sessions will focus on renewing our hearts and service as priests of Jesus Christ. See our website for more details.  We are happy to give you a $149 discount off of both convocation fee & Priest-Labor Initiative Workshop, making it $539 (original price for both totals $688), and we offer good room rates for the nights other than one or two that we will provide for the Priest-Labor Initiative Days.  Remember that this a legitimate use of your continuing education stipend and a great way to fulfill your commitment to ongoing formation! Early Bird Registration ends February 28, 2014!
